The Kyiv Medical University of UAFM is a higher medical educational establishment of a new type founded in 1992. It is accredited by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (accreditation certificate is в-IV №   114479 — 02.04.2007) and it has the license of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine of improving educational work for IV level of accreditation (license is A №   301995 — 02.04.2007).

THE MEDICAL FACULTY

trains medical personnel on specialty 7.110101 «Health care», specialists gain the qualification of a general practitioner (term of study is 6 years); Approximate cost for an academic year — $1800
THE DENTISTRY FACULTY
trains medical personnel on specialty 7.110106 «Dentistry», specialists gain the qualification of a dentist (term of study is 5 years); Approximate cost for an academic year — $2400
THE FACULTY OF PHARMACY
trains medical personnel on specialty 7.110201 «Pharmacy»; specialists gain the qualification of a pharmacist (term of study is 5 years) Approximate cost for an academic year — $2000.

The curriculum and educational plans of the Kyiv Medical University of UAFM are specified by the State Standards of the Higher Medical Education; the students study not only the basic subjects but the main trends of folk and non-traditional medicine, such as: Pharmacognosy, Phytotherapy, Homeopathy, Manual Therapy, Reflexotherapy and others.
This is closely connected with the main purpose of the University education: to train medical specialists capable to combine knowledge of official and folk medicine in their practical work.
At present there are about 2000 students at the Kyiv Medical University from 15 countries of the world.
All the necessary conditions have been created for organization of an educational process:
Theoretical chairs have their own bases;
Clinical chairs are situated on the bases of profile research institutions and clinics of Kiev.
There is a highly professional teaching staff at the University. The total number of teachers is over 300; the majority of them have scientific degrees as well as rich experience of pedagogical work.
The University has a library. Foreign students are provided with a hostel.
The training of foreigners in the University is fulfilled on the basis of the general secondary education.
To get the Ukrainian entry visa in foreign country one should apply to the Ukrainian Embassy with the official invitation of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine received from the University. Admission is allowed from August, 15 to October, 30.
In order to enter the University one should have the following documents:
1. Certificate about secondary education with the list of subjects and got marks.
2. Document issued by the competent state organization testifying the right of an applicant to continue the education in higher educational establishments.
3. Medical certificate issued by the Department of Health in the student's country at least two months prior to the student's arrival in Ukraine.
4. Certification that the student is HIV-negative.
5. Copy of the birth certificate.
6. 8 photographs.
7. Back ticket with opened date to return to Motherland in term up to one year.
All documents are to be translated into Russian (Ukrainian). Items 1, 3, 5 are to be certificated according to the legislation of the issuing country.
